Official ARA statement on demise of Aryan Guard

Recently Bill Noble, a leader of the Aryan Guard, has released an Open Letter informing the world that the Aryan Guard is no more. This is in light of the recent bomb attack on a member of the WEB (Western European Bloodlines) and another related individual and Kyle McKee’s flight from the authorities.

Anti-Racist Acton Calgary (ARA) takes Bill Noble’s letter and the recent events as a full vindication of its long-standing position: that the Aryan Guard (AG), and its splinter WEB, is a violent neo-Nazi gang and that such a group would not last forever.

We believe that Noble’s formal declaration is a victory for us, for Calgary and all our anti-racist allies across Canada and North America. The AG was seen as the forefront of white supremacy in North America by many and was receiving funding from across Canada and the US.

However, we note that Bill Noble is a hard core neo-Nazi. He was active in the group Western Canada For Us (WCFU), which ARA Calgary helped take down back in 2004. He then helped build the AG and we can be certain he will not be quitting anytime soon spreading his hatred. The same goes for the WEB which has not dissolved and is still active in Calgary, and the many members of the AG. They will not be turning away from violent racism overnight and it would foolish to think so.

Therefore, ARA Calgary will continue to keep the spot light on the WEB and on those now former AG members who remain active. As long as there is an organised presence of neo-Nazis in any community the threat of violence remains.

Thus, we call on everyone to celebrate this important victory, but to remain vigilant. On The Demise of the Aryan Guard
